Frequently asked questions
- Is Figscribe free?
- Yes. Figscribe is free to use, with no sign-up, no credit card, and no email required.
- What audio formats are supported?
- Most common audio formats work, including MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC, WebM, MP4 audio and AAC. The built-in recorder always produces a format Figscribe can read.
- How long can my audio be?
- Files can be up to 25 MB - around 25 minutes for a typical voice note.
- Is my audio stored after transcription?
- No. Your audio is deleted as soon as transcription finishes (or fails). Your transcripts and summaries are saved only in your own browser, on this device, so you can revisit them later.
- What languages does Figscribe support?
- More than 90 languages are supported. English is the default; switch language using the picker for better accuracy in other languages.
- How accurate is the transcription?
- Accuracy is excellent for clear voice notes. Background noise, very strong accents, or multiple overlapping speakers can reduce quality, as with any transcription tool.
- Can I use Figscribe on my phone?
- Yes. The recorder works in any modern mobile browser (iOS Safari, Chrome on Android, and others), and the site is designed for small screens too.
