What this is

Figscribe is a free hobby tool that transcribes and summarises audio. By using it you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use the service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Figscribe to:

• Process audio you do not have the right to process - including recordings of other people captured without their consent where the law requires consent.
• Process content that is illegal, defamatory, threatening, harassing, or violates intellectual property rights.
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, scrape, or otherwise abuse the service.
• Use the service for any high-stakes purpose where accuracy of transcription or summary is critical (medical, legal, compliance, etc.). Transcription is a best-effort AI output and may contain errors.

Requests are rate-limited per IP. Repeated attempts to bypass limits may result in your access being blocked.

Your content

You retain ownership of any audio you upload and any transcripts or summaries generated from it. We do not claim any rights to them and we do not retain a copy on our servers - the upload blob is deleted immediately after processing, and transcripts live only in your browser's localStorage.

No warranty

Figscribe is provided "as is", without any warranty of availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. The transcription and summarisation models are third-party AI systems and can produce inaccurate, biased, or incomplete output. Always verify any output you intend to rely on.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.

Availability

Figscribe is provided as a free service. It may be slow, rate-limited, or unavailable at times. We may change, suspend, or shut down the service at any time.

Third-party services

Audio is processed by Groq, stored briefly on Vercel Blob, and error reports are sent to Sentry. Their use is governed by their respective terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The "last updated" date above will change when we do. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
